out of the blue on this rainy saturday i blurted out that jingle...is it because that i just had a relaxing saturday...stayed home and practically did nothing productive hehehe...woke up around 8:30, had breakfast, read the paper, took a shower then proceeded to surf the net...this went on till lunch time...took a nap for about an hour, surfed the channels on TV--found nothing interesting, finally decided to surf the net again : ) then while on line...just blurted out: i love you sabado pati na rin linggo....what was the next line?? oh well till next time....

Ne-yo Concert

its been ages since i watched a concert so i was bit excited to watch Ne-yo's concert held last 29 february at the araneta coliseum.

he's a great artist. i love his songs. my current fave at the moment is "Go on Girl." but with regards to the concert, i was disappointed. he only performed for about an hour.....for my friends and i, it was kind of bitin!

since i'm on a roll today....might as well make another post! it might take a while before i'll be able to do this again!

lately, i've been mulling over some things i would love to do/have.....

if i could, i would.....

travel to various domestic and international destinations! local places that i want to visit: Batanes, Siargao, Coron, Sagada, Pangasinan, Iloilo, etc. foreign destinations include Venice, Paris, Rome, Moscow, Copenhagen, Munich, Athens, Madrid, London, Geneva or Zurich, Egypt, India.....

buy a Mac laptop!!!ever since i saw one...fell in love with it and would looovvee to get one this year....

take up dance lessons again...i miss dancing and being in a dance class...

watch live the F1 inaugural race in Singapore....

It was so nice to see my fave tennis player Pete Sampras in action!! Though retired for quite some time now, he still displayed the brilliance that brought him to the top. Great serve and volley game and of course his wonderful forehand. I bet he could still beat some of top 10 players! He's still the best!!!

You think you know but you have no idea. Such a startling realization when you think you know the person very well (because you have known the person all your life) but yet you remained clueless as to why you came into this situation where you don't recognize this person at all. You begin to question?? Have you missed something?? You search for clues from the past that may provide answers to the present and hopefully help you in the future. You feel helpless and defiant---surely this could not be it! But its too late. Its done, gone, and no matter how hard you try to fix it, things will never be the same again. I had no idea.....

Davao--rrefic!!

My most recent escape was Davao which I immensely enjoyed!! Our first afternoon (after a sumptuous brunch) was spent island hopping and snorkeling around Samal Island. I don't know how to swim but I do love the beach!! So, as long as I have a lifevest and friends who know how to swim -- am all for it!!! Second day was a relaxing day trip to Pearl Farm. Sooo love having my massage there!!! Third morning spent getting some sun, then an afternoon shopping and had a mini night tour of the city. Last day, we went to see Pag-asa and the crocs!! Short but fun visit!! Have to go back soon!!

discovering places in search of solitude

have you ever felt the need to be alone? be away from the madness of the things going around you? escape and find solace in an (un)known destination?

I do and have been doing it for several years now.... It's such a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of city living plus you get to explore new places!!

my attempts at solitude have brought me to scenic palawan, charming bohol, fascinating pagudpud, historic ilocos and vigan, chilly baguio, feted boracay, enticing camiguin, exciting CDO, delightful iligan, soothing sumilon, bustling cebu, and delightful dumaguete.

so many places so little time....i'm off to my next destination!!!

scariest moment

August 30, 2007 -- that day will be forever etched in my mind. My brother and I were involved in a car accident as we were on our way to our respective workplaces.

3 Collisions. Like we always do, my brother and I took a taxi on our way to work. Instead of going our usual route, we did not bother to tell the taxi driver to go our preferred route but allowed him to decide what route to take. Our taxi was making its way along Tandang Sora and was caught in a traffic (cars were already occupying 3 lanes). Seeing that the traffic was slow moving, our driver decided to use another lane (aside from the already existing 3 lanes) to get ahead. However, he did not see that a motorcycle coming from behind was also doing the same --- 1st collision. As I was seated at the back of the driver, I saw how the motorcycle got hit!! That instance I got scared for the man on the motorcycle. Anyway, the taxi driver got out and had a discussion with the motorcycle man. While they were having their discussion, my brother and I saw this white Montero coming in our direction AT A VERY HIGH SPEED!! Its as if the driver was coming after us or purposely wanted to hit the taxi in front of it. In a split second, the white Montero hit our taxi head-on!! -- 2nd collision. As a result of the 2nd collision is the 3rd collision -- a jeepney hit the back of the taxi. The impacts from both ends resulted to us being sandwiched by the Montero and jeepney. My body went cold and I could feel the pain from my lower leg as result of being thrown backward and then forward on my seat.

Drunk driver. As we were still finding our bearing due to the impacts of the collisions, a heated argument was going on between the motorcycle driver--taxi driver--jeepney driver. Initially, the driver of the white Montero was not involved in the argument as he remained inside his car. It took about 5-10 minutes before he emerged from his car and joined in the heated argument stating that the incident was not his fault as he was in the right lane. THE NERVE OF THE SOB!!! Any human being, seeing that there was already a collision in front of him and though he was on the right lane -- would not purposely hit on the vehicle in any circumstance!! He would try to SLOW DOWN and avoid it. While this SOB tried his very best to rationalize/justify his action, my brother and I observed and felt that he was drunk!! His eyes were red and he was nervous. The bystanders have similar observations too. After a few minutes arguing with the rest of the drivers, the Montero driver went back to his car and maneuvered his way out of the scene and fled!!! He truly is an SOB!!

The Aftermath. My brother and I managed to get out of the mess and proceeded to go to work. As I arrive in my workplace, I still could not get the picture of the white Montero fast approaching and eventually hitting us -- out of my mind. To this day, besides the slight injuries, the incident still gives me chills.....

Schumi, Ferrari and Formula 1

There's no other F1 driver for me but Michael Schumacher. Yes, I am an F1 fan -- Schumi and the Ferrari crew got me hooked!! Its an exhilirating feeling whenever I watch an F1 race -- from qualifying, race day and all the way up to the checquered flag!!

During qualifying -- its a tense feeling watching drivers post the fastest lap to gain pole position for the race. While on race day, the excitement is high in anticipation for the red lights to go off and watch these cars speed off and manuever their way to the first corner to avoid collisions or gain advantage in the race. Normally, a race would consist about 50-70 laps of the track but never a dull moment. Many things could happen in the race -- e.g. weather conditions might change that affects the team's strategy for the entire race or on several occassions I witness how a pit stop could gain a place or better yet even win the race for the driver and the team. Schumi and Ferrari have done it several times!!

Though Schumi has retired, I'm still and always will be an F1 and Ferrari fan!!

Friendship

I came across this quote and it got me thinking of all the friendships I have formed through the years. I consider myself lucky when it comes to having a few but good friends that I know will always be there for me. I have different sets of friends: school friends from grade school all the way up to my post-graduate degree; brods/sis from an academic organization in college; previous and current officemates; sports friends; and on-line friends. Quite a contradiction to what I mentioned earlier huh! Not to undermine the bond that I have with each but among them only a few (literally a few) really knows me. Entirely my fault though because I am cautious when it comes to "getting too close to me."

However, for me what counts most of friendship is that they have touched my life and made me a better person and I hope I have made the same impact in theirs....
